Golf simulator component fit: mats, nets and screens

A mat, net or screen needs its own fit check beside the monitor requirements. Match exact product dimensions to your finished hitting position. Preserve mat height, ball-flight distance, containment depth and screen setback as separate measurements. A footprint that fits does not establish swing clearance or safe ball containment.

Start with the finished hitting position

A component list becomes useful when every dimension has a named endpoint. Draw the ball position and target line first. Add the monitor position from its own instructions. Keep the top of the mat separate from the floor, and mark where the net or screen sits when assembled.

Use the model-specific room chart to read the monitor requirements. The ceiling-height guide explains why a mounting measurement cannot establish personal swing clearance. The monitor directory links each model to its documented software and placement records.

Compare the exact mat size and thickness

The GoSports PRO rectangle reviewed here measures five by four feet and is 15 mm thick. The maker lists six teeing positions and three rubber tees. This describes the named PRO product. Other GoSports sizes, shapes, inserts and thicknesses need their own check.

15 mm MAT THICKNESS

The named 5 by 4 foot rectangle is the PRO mat with 15 mm thickness. Other GoSports sizes, shapes, inserts and thicknesses are separate products. Title re-verified 2026-10-18 against the live page H1 (word order changed by the manufacturer: 'Rectangle, 15 mm'); the 15 mm thickness quote is unchanged.

A five-by-four footprint alone cannot confirm the rest of the setup. For the Garmin R10, use the documented tripod and sensor-height instructions. For the MLM2PRO, check its placement distances and the ball type used for spin measurements. We have not tested this mat with either monitor.

Keep containment depth and ball flight separate

The selected Home net row lists a seven-foot width, three-foot-six-inch depth and seven-foot height. Those are product dimensions. The Net Return’s current product page tells buyers to check width, height and depth, then allow for the full swing. It also directs buyers to the launch monitor’s own ball-to-net and room-depth requirements. Choose the exact net size before using a dimension from its multi-product comparison.

Will the net fit in my room? · Publication date not stated for this section

Launch monitors have their own ball-to-net and room-depth requirements.

The current multi-product page separates sizes. Net dimensions describe hardware, not a room approval or a complete screen/enclosure package.

Keep a measurement list with separate rows for monitor-to-ball distance, ball-to-net distance, assembled containment depth and any wall clearance in the installation instructions. The sensor and ball-flight distances do not include every other segment of a room.

Check the maker’s current assembly and use instructions for side protection, overhead protection, anchoring, inspection, wear and permitted balls. A separate impact screen can change the setup. Do not carry a net-only footprint into a screen-and-frame installation by assumption.

Treat a screen and projector as a separate fit decision

Record the screen’s usable image width, aspect ratio, frame dimensions, required clearance and mounting method. Distinguish the viewable area from the outer frame. Check whether the listing includes the screen, frame, side panels, mounting hardware and projector protection.

BenQ specifies a 0.69–0.83 throw ratio for the TK710STi. That is a lens-distance-to-image-width relationship. It does not determine the complete installation envelope. Use the exact projector guide and BenQ tools to check offset, image size, mounting, obstacles and the cable path.

0.69~0.83

This is the TK710STi throw ratio. Use the exact model installation guide and BenQ tools to check image width, offset, aspect ratio, mount, cables and obstacles.

The GSPro PC requirements page keeps the intended output resolution beside the computer requirements. Match the PC output, adapter, HDMI cable and display input separately. A 4K-capable projector does not establish that an unspecified PC meets the software’s recommended 4K configuration.

Keep unresolved checks visible before buying

Leave unknown measurements blank and name what needs checking. Ask the equipment maker or installer about the exact component and proposed arrangement. We have not measured your swing, tested these products together or assessed the room construction and ball containment.

The SC4 PRO placement page and EYE MINI placement page keep each model’s manufacturer instructions separate.

No complete working-simulator price or universal room approval follows from this reference. Use the room-fit starting point and source methodology to keep the equipment questions and source limits together.

For a net-based setup, the net selection and room checklist connects containment, display choices and monitor distances. The Home and SPG-7 fit comparison checks exact product dimensions, assembly and warranty terms.

Put the projector and frame on the same drawing

Use two outlines for the screen: the usable projected image and the assembled frame. Keep the projector lens position separate from the front or rear of its housing. A mounting position that produces the intended image can still conflict with a frame, ceiling obstruction or swing area.

For the documented TK710STi, the throw ratio above belongs to that exact model. Do not substitute a ratio from an LK936ST, an unspecified short-throw projector or a retailer's family title. A throw calculation sizes an image; it does not certify a mount, frame or safe room layout. Ask the installer to mark the actual lens position and all required clearances before ordering the mounting parts.

Keep the screen-and-frame parts list beside the net comparison. A practice net can have a different footprint and included parts from a projection enclosure, even when both appear to fit the same wall.

Common questions

Does a net footprint establish the room length I need?

No. Keep the monitor-to-ball distance, ball-to-net distance and net depth separate. Add the maker’s installation clearances and assess the golfer and club independently.

Can I substitute a thinner mat with the same width?

Recheck the finished hitting height and the monitor instructions. A matching width does not establish equal height, insert construction or tee fit.

Is a practice net the same product as an impact screen?

Check each exact product. A projection surface, ball-stopping net and enclosure frame can be separate items with different installation instructions and included parts.
