Golf simulator room dimensions: measure the right segments
Golf simulator room dimensions depend on the exact equipment and the people using it. The chart below separates sensor-to-ball distances, ball flight, and overhead mounting measurements from room recommendations. Add screen setback and assess personal swing clearance separately; a sum of equipment distances does not certify a room as safe.

The documented distances below describe different parts of a simulator setup. A behind-ball sensor needs its position recorded relative to the ball. An overhead unit may use a mounting measurement. Read the endpoints and the requirement label before comparing a row with the dimensions on your room sketch.

These rows do not form a universal room-size recommendation. They describe the cited equipment guidance. Where a model has no verified measurement in this chart, obtain its installation instructions before drawing a conclusion. A missing row does not mean that the equipment needs no clearance.
Draw the room as separate segments
Mark the intended hitting position on a plan. Record the sensor-to-ball distance, the ball-to-net or screen distance, and the screen setback separately. Keep any other installation clearances on the same drawing. Adding two documented segments does not account for a third segment that you have not measured.
Make a separate overhead sketch. Include the finished hitting surface and the lowest obstruction near the swing area. A beam, light, or garage-door track can make the available clearance different from a measurement taken elsewhere. Read the ceiling-height guide before comparing a room-height label with a mounting range.
These distances matter most inside a pairing you are actually considering. The Garmin R10 pairing on GSPro and the Mevo+ pairing on GSPro both rest on a behind-the-ball placement, and the matrix of documented listings names the party that published each one.
Keep recommendations and requirements distinct
A manufacturer can describe a recommended room size without calling every dimension a required minimum. Preserve that distinction in your notes. Do not turn a recommendation into a universal threshold, and do not treat meeting an equipment dimension as approval for a golfer to swing.
The room also needs an assessment for the people using it. Handedness, hitting position, club choice, and overhead equipment all belong in that discussion. We have not inspected your room, tested its containment, or measured anyone’s swing. Avoid a full-speed test swing in a confined space when clearance remains uncertain.
Keep the computer and software checks alongside the room
The host computer and display need a place on the plan, but software support does not establish physical fit. Read the GSPro software guide or E6 CONNECT guide for the separate host and license questions. Leave cable routing and equipment positions visible for the installer.

Common questions
Can I add the sensor and ball-flight distances to get a room length?
That gives only the measured segments in the equipment instructions. You still need screen or net setback and any other space required by the installation. It does not establish swing clearance or ball containment.
Is a recommended room size a minimum?
Keep the publisher’s label. A recommendation and a required minimum are different statements. Neither establishes that every golfer can swing safely in that room.
Does a thick mat affect mounting height?
It can change the measurement when the instructions use the top of the hitting area as an endpoint. Measure from the specified surface instead of substituting the bare floor.
