Garmin R50 vs FlightScope Mevo+: Space and Spec Records

The records split on placement and sensing. The R50 sits beside the tee and measures with cameras; its record holds placement instructions but no numeric room clearance. The Mevo+ sits behind the ball on radar, with a 7 to 9 ft sensor-to-tee distance and an 8 ft minimum ball flight captured. Neither record measures the space a swing needs.

What the Garmin R50 and FlightScope Mevo+ records carry

The Garmin R50 record places the unit beside the tee. Garmin writes: "You must place the launch monitor approximately 1.5 ft. (0.5 m) to the side of the tee location." The unit must face the tee location and should sit at approximately the same height as the tee location. The technology field records cameras: "These features use internal cameras to record measurements that help you analyze your practice." The R50 carries placement instructions captured but no numeric room clearance. The FlightScope Mevo+ record places the unit behind the ball. FlightScope writes: "Mevo+ will sit 8 feet behind the tee location." The technology field records radar: "Radar technology does not require direct sunlight for accurate measurement and is completely unaffected by low light conditions." The clearance records capture two distances: 7 to 9 ft from sensor position to tee, and a minimum 8 ft of ball flight from tee to net impact plane. FlightScope's FAQ text reads "7-9 feet sensor to tee distance" and "8 feet of ball flight minimim."

Room checks after the comparison

Each comparison on this site ends where the records end. The FlightScope Mevo+ requirements page holds the captured sensor-to-tee and ball flight distances in one place. The R50 monitor page carries its captured placement instructions; complete room measurements remain unverified. The general room dimensions reference collects the space records this site keeps, and the validator for ceiling height checks captured mounting limits. It does not assess a personal swing.

Do X3C, Mevo Gen2, Mevo and Mevo+ work in low light conditions? · Publication date not stated for this section

Radar technology does not require direct sunlight for accurate measurement and is completely unaffected by low light conditions.

FlightScope answers this low-light question for the X3C, Mevo Gen2, Mevo and Mevo+ together. The same answer says Advanced Fusion Tracking needs 300 lux within a 3 foot radius of the hitting location. GolfCompat has not tested the unit.
